For the first time ever available on vinyl: the second album by the influential New York ska and reggae musician and producer.
Born in Huntington, NY, VICTOR RICE was active as a musician on the 3rd Wave of Ska as early as the late eighties. Since the early nineties he has played mainly as a bass-player in bands like THE SCOFFLAWS, the NEW YORK SKA-JAZZ ENSEMBLE or the STUBBORN ALL-STARS and soon made himself a name as an engineer and producer, working for THE SLACKERS, among others.
While releasing his second solo album, In America, he was resident musician and producer with EASY STAR RECORDS on productions such as Dub Side Of The Moon, Radiodread and Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band.
The 15 songs of his second solo album are instrumentals and focus - as in the rest of the musician's work - on the 50s and 60s of Jamaican music, i.e. ska, reggae and dub. The artist and winner of a Latin Grammy Award, who has lived in Sao Paulo since 2002, wrote and produced the album himself, played all the basslines and numerous other instruments and was lively supported by the members of the old STUBBORN ALL-STARS crew.
17 years after it was first published, the vinyl version of this atmospheric and dub-heavy offbeat work is now available for the first time.
LP comes with printed inner sleeve and download code.
