  1. Little Eva - Llllloco-Motion - LP

Perhaps no babysitter in history got a bigger break than Eva Narcissus Boyd, who babysat for songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin. It was early 1962 when they were inspired by a dance Little Eva was doing around the house and wrote a song called “The Locomotion”. Originally meant for Dee Dee Sharp, returning home one day Carole and Gerry found their babysitter singing it. They liked what they heard, so they rushed her into the studio, with King doing the backing vocals. Little Eva was only sixteen when "The Locomotion" hit #1. Her salary as the Goffins' babysitter was $35 dollars a week. Her earnings from "The Locomotion" were reported to be around thirty thousand dollars. She appeared on television shows and in numerous magazines. She performed live in the US and did several tours of England. Remembered by most as a one hit wonder Little Eva was more than that and her debut album on the DIMENSION label reveals one of the funniest yet talented artists of the "girl groups" era. Also features her second chart smasher "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby", later covered on stage by the Beatles.

  2. Most - Auto-Destructive Art - CD

The Most is a Beat band from Umeå, Sweden. The Most is not a typical Mod revival band since they’re rooted more in older music from the 50s and early 60s, predominantly Jazz, Soul, black Rhythm and Blues, Bluegrass, Rock and Delta Blues. These sources of inspiration make them sound more like the early British Invasion Beat groups rather than the today, ironically, dated sounding revival bands per se. Mehr erfahren

Welcome to the DJ style! Sound of Jamaica. The DJ phenomen started way back in the Ska era in the late 1950's with the likes of Count Machukie and Sir Lord Comic who could be found shouting introductions to the big tunes of the day. This would grow to almost questions and answer sessions over the original vocals. This Deejay jive talk so popular in the dancehalls and sound system gatherings transferred to vinyl and became another chapter in the evolving sound of Reggae. So sit back and listen keenly to some musical biscuits, to the kings of the DJ sound. Mehr erfahren
